Bentonite Clay

Bentonite Clay is a natural mineral clay composed of aged volcanic ash. It is highly absorbent, and develops a mild electrical charge or ‘static cling’ when moist. This helps it bind with, absorb & draw out toxins, heavy metals & other impurities.

Our organic Bentonite Clay is sourced from a natural deposit in Australia, and is finely milled to 45 microns, making a silky smooth, powdery clay, suitable for face masks, mineral cosmetics & as an additive in soap making.

DIY CLAY MASK

To prepare a mask for your skin:

• Mix approx. 1 tablespoon of clay with a small amount of liquid, until you get a smooth, thin paste consistency.
• You can use pure water, a mix of water & lemon juice or apple cider vinegar, or an infusion or herbal tea.
• Add a drop or 2 of your favourite skin-safe essential oil if you wish.
• Apply paste to the skin of your face & neck, avoiding the delicate eye area.
• Lie back & relax, leaving the mask to dry for 10 – 15 minutes.
• Wet a clean washcloth in warm water, press & hold this against the dried mask to steam & soften.
• Wipe the softened clay mask away.
• Pat your skin dry, and apply your normal moisturiser or serum.

Clay masks are best used weekly (or twice a week for very oily or acne-prone skin) for best results.

• As with any cosmetic items, please patch test before using and discontinue use if any irritation occurs.
• Don’t store or mix your clays with anything metal – use glass, wood, plastic or ceramic implements only.
• Although our Bentonite Clay is classed as ‘food grade’ we are not medical practitioners and therefore aren’t qualified to recommend it for dietary use. We recommend seeking the advice of your health professional before ingesting this product.
